Since its founding in 2019, Lake Side Fit has embarked on an inspiring journey. What started as a small fitness group has transformed into a full-scale 24-hour gym and wellness center with a thriving fitness community.
Recently, Lake Side Fit expanded further by relocating to 4055 Lake Street, offering exceptional fitness services and a supportive environment to help members reach their fitness goals.
Realizing a Dream
Lake Side Fit was Lacey Lucas’s dream. She wanted to create a welcoming community where people could build relationships while increasing their fitness levels. After founding the gym with her husband, Jimmy, they initially focused on group fitness classes. But just six months after opening, they added a 24-hour gym with free weights, cardio machines, and circuit training equipment in response to growing demand.
COVID-19 caused Lake Side Fit to close for seven months, after which they returned stronger than ever. In 2020, they moved to a bigger location on Red Arrow Highway, which allowed them to grow even more and offer wellness services. Recently, they have moved into their dream location in downtown Bridgman, which is over 6,700 sq ft, equipped with two shower rooms, an infrared sauna, stand-up tanning, group fitness classes, personal training, and kids gymnastics classes. They offer all the equipment you need to guide you on your journey.
The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber and the Greater Bridgman Chamber & Growth Alliance conducted the ribbon-cutting ceremony to commemorate the Lake Side Fit’s grand opening, underscoring its significance to the community. In addition to showcasing the stunning new location, the event highlighted the commitment and tenacity that have propelled Lake Side Fit’s expansion.
Nancy Kiernan, Greater Bridgman CGA Director, commented, “Lake Side Fit has become more than just a gym—it’s a testament to Jimmy and Lacey’s vision for providing the community a place where they can find encouragement, motivation, and support.”
We are excited to see their growth and impact in Bridgman and proud to have them as members of the Bridgman CGA. Their commitment to health and wellness aligns with our community’s values, and we look forward to the positive influence they will continue to bring.
A Community, Not Just a Gym
Lake Side Fit’s founders and instructors are the foundation of its success. Instructor/trainer Brandon Wilson, a veteran of the Marine Corps with more than ten years of personal training experience, focuses on rehabilitation programs, teen athlete training, and golf fitness. Instructor Rosaida Wilson, an experienced competitive dancer and choreographer, helps clients develop strength and balance through deliberate movement in the gym by bringing her knowledge of movement and mindfulness.
Lake Side Fit has always been more than just a place to work out; it’s a place to celebrate individual accomplishments and build friendships. Beyond fitness, Jimmy and Lacey want to create a space where everyone, regardless of fitness level, feels empowered and supported.
“People can be themselves, make new friends, and strive to be the best versions of themselves at our gym,” says Lacey.
Lake Side Fit has a bright future. The team is excited to expand alongside the community and assist even more people in starting their fitness journeys by upholding a dedication to innovation and excellence. Lake Side Fit is the place to go if you’re searching for wellness services, personal training, exciting group classes, or a welcoming fitness community.
