Originally from Chicago, Arthur Havlicek moved to Southwest Michigan with his family when he was eight-years-old. They settled in the beautiful town of Bridgman, where they still reside, and Arthur graduated from Lake Michigan Catholic High School. From there, Arthur attended Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids where he earned a degree in political science and public administration. He began working in politics his very first semester on campus and has since amassed nearly a decade of public sector experience that spans the local, state, and national levels. Arthur rose through the ranks of his field by managing and winning dozens of campaigns and fostering relationships with hundreds of community leaders across the state. His understanding of politics and policy eventually led him to the Michigan House of Representatives where he held three roles over the course of five years. In his first role, Arthur helped legislators conduct their office operations and navigate government bureaucracy on behalf of their constituents. Next, he would serve as Legislative Director for the 79th State House District, which encompasses northern Berrien County. In that position, Arthur oversaw all office operations, successfully guided seven pieces of legislation into law, and helped craft two $1.5 billion budgets to fund Michigan’s 15 Public Universities. Prior to joining the Chamber, Arthur served as the Speaker of the House’s advisor to eleven West Michigan Legislators where he helped them to outline their priorities and advised them on how to leverage resources and relationships around the Capitol to achieve their objectives. After working with leaders in the public, private, and non-profit sectors across the state, Arthur knows what truly drives growth and progress – collaboration. As President of the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber, Arthur hopes to bring businesses, community organizations, and elected officials together towards a common goal – keeping Southwest Michigan a great place to live, work, and raise a family for years to come.

Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, Sarah joins the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber after 16 years in the Media industry. It was her time in radio that she credits with discovering her passion for non-profits; past roles include past Board Chair for 100 Women Strong, a member of the Executive Committee for the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women Luncheon in St. Joseph, as well as involvement with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Sarah completed her BA in Professional Communications at Siena Heights University in December of 2019, and was named one of the MoodyOnTheMarket.com’s Class of 2019 40 Under 40. When not splitting her time between the Bridgman or St. Joseph office, you’ll catch Sarah enjoying baseball, football, or just simply relaxing with family and friends somewhere in Southwest Michigan.
