The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber Foundation has received a generous $50,000 gift from the Philip & Becky Laney Foundation to help fuel programs that support and strengthen the regional economy.
The Laneys have been steadfast partners and advocates of the Chamber for many years. Through their Bridgman-based business, B&L Information Systems, they have supported countless initiatives designed to help the broader community thrive.
What makes this contribution particularly meaningful is the Laneys’ hands-on involvement. They haven’t simply observed the Chamber’s work—they’ve helped shape it.
Phil Laney has held multiple leadership roles with our organization, including as past treasurer of the Regional Chamber’s Board of Directors and as a current member of the Greater Bridgman Area Chamber Growth Alliance Board of Directors. This depth of engagement gives them unique insight into the measurable impact we are having across the region.
“We have witnessed firsthand the incredible work that the Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber has been doing in the community,” said Phil Laney. “Becky and I have great confidence in both the mission and leadership of the organization and we are proud to support their critical work in our region.”
The Chamber’s programs touch nearly every aspect of the regional economy—from leadership development and workforce attraction to initiatives addressing housing and childcare. The Laneys’ support ensures these programs can continue to grow, creating tangible results for employers, entrepreneurs, and residents.
Their gift also sends a powerful message about the value of investing in Southwest Michigan’s long-term vitality. By supporting programs that address the region’s most pressing challenges, they are helping create a stronger, more resilient future—a future where businesses thrive, talent resides, and our quality of life is second to none.
On behalf of our board, members, and staff, we extend our deepest gratitude to Phil and Becky for their remarkable generosity and continued belief in our work. Their investment will allow us to deliver even greater impact across our communities and drive lasting prosperity throughout Southwest Michigan.
Phil and Becky, You Make It Happen.
