The Southwest Michigan Regional Chamber celebrated a spectacular afternoon of golf, connections, and fun at its Third Annual Wine & Nine on Friday, May 30, at Pipestone Creek Golf Course. The Annual Wine & Nine is an all-female golf outing featuring wine, a 60-minute golf clinic, and a nine-hole round. With a sold-out crowd, sunny skies, and a course full of energy, this event once again proved to be one of the region’s most anticipated casual networking events for women.
Wine & Nine began as a lighthearted opportunity to encourage more women to leave the office and network on the golf course, and has grown into a beloved annual tradition. It brings women of all backgrounds and skill levels together for a unique blend of social connection, empowerment, and, of course, plenty of wine.
“Wine & Nine isn’t just about golf. It’s about building relationships, encouraging one another, and creating an inclusive space where women can feel confident trying something new or returning to the game they love,” explained Jasmine Hansen, Events Director for the Chamber. “The event has continued to evolve into something truly special, and this year’s energy was the best yet.”
From the moment players checked in, the celebration was underway. They received swag bags, enjoyed wine, warmed up during the clinic, and mingled with fellow attendees. The nine-hole scramble format made it easy for both beginners and seasoned golfers to enjoy the day in a relaxed, team-oriented atmosphere that sparked laughter and connection.
During an interview with ABC 57, Tyanna Essig, Director of Development at Berrien County Cancer Service, joined by others from United Federal Credit Union, shared her excitement. “We were thrilled to come together and celebrate the Chamber and the businesses it represents during this event. It’s exciting to learn golf in a comfortable setting and spend quality time with other ladies at a similar level.”
Events like Wine & Nine are only possible thanks to the generous support of the business community. A huge thank-you to our sponsors for making this year’s event a success: Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Hungerford CPAs, Midwest Energy & Communications, Schroeder Furniture, Starks Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Saint Joseph Pilates, Legata Leadership Solutions, Indiana Michigan Power, The Cheese Lady, Biggby Coffee of Berrien Springs, Kruggel Lawton CPA, Sturgis Bank, United Way of Southwest Michigan, Pearson Construction, and Wightman.
A special thank-you also goes to Dustin and Adam Lester, owners of Pipestone Creek Golf Course, for being exceptional hosts. Their continued partnership and hospitality help elevate this event each year.
“Hosting Wine & Nine is something we look forward to every year”, shared Dustin Lester. “We love seeing women come together, try something new, laugh, and experience what golf is really about—being outside and connecting with others.”
The event concluded with the “Final Pour,” featuring dinner and the announcement of prizes for our Best Team, Most Honest Team, and Best Team Photo categories. Players enjoyed a variety of fantastic raffle prizes, along with continued wine and networking opportunities. We eagerly anticipate another round of putts, pours, and positivity at the Fourth Annual Wine & Nine on May 29, 2026!
